Sample Solutions – Mentor Company

Tell us more about Sample Solutions? What makes you different from the other companies?

A team of young professionals who believe that knowledge begins with curiosity, competition makes us faster, while collaboration makes us better. Only persistence and ambition lead us to success and we are guided by the fact that only by helping and motivating each other, each of us can use our potential to the fullest.

What makes us special is definitely the chance for cooperation that we give to self-taught people and those who would like to make a career change, and the interest to be part of this mentoring program comes from this.

Something that is most valued is proactivity and the desire to learn and progress, which are more important to us than the acquired work experience and the appropriate education for the specific position.

This is the first year you join our mentoring program for Python Back-end Developer. What do you expect from it and what are the benefits for you as a company?

We are glad to cooperate with the Career Center of Semos Education, with which we have the same goal, which is to provide the students with the opportunity to work on a real project where they could apply the acquired knowledge, and at the same time provide them with a new experience with which they will slowly be able to get involved in work duties. We will also try to give the students a picture of what it looks like to work on a given project, as part of a team and within a company. As a mentor company, we believe that during the mentoring program we will meet qualified staff with desire to progress who would later want to join the Sample Solutions team.

Python has gained more popularity than ever in recent years. Why is it becoming more and more popular?

Python got the title of the most popular programming language for a reason. Its popularity is due to its easy syntax which makes it quite easy to master and it is just one of the reasons why it is great for beginners. The wide application in various fields is just another proof of its flexibility, universality and versatility. It is used for any type of system operations, automation, cloud based solutions, web development, as well as for Data Analysis, Data Science, IoT, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), etc. The fact that it is used not only in small, but also in huge companies such as Google, IBM, Nokia and Facebook shows how wide its spectrum of application is. Even the Workflow Automation System (WAS) for NASA is written in Python.

What advice would you give to anyone who would like to join our mentoring program?

From the many different programming languages, you have made the right choice. Why? Because Python is the language of the future. The opportunities for career development are huge and there is a daily search for candidates with experience and skills in Python. In addition, the possibilities for automation of processes and daily tasks are enormous. Even an ordinary coffee machine can become smart and make coffee for you every morning at 8 a.m. with the help of a few lines of code. Sounds great, right?

Finally, what skills should the potential candidate for internship or employment possess?

The developers are “to blame” for the appearance of even more innovative and useful applications and services. Therefore, one of the essential characteristics that a candidate should possess is the research mindset. If the candidate possesses that, acquiring new skills will go quickly and easily. One of the most important skills, in addition to enthusiasm and adaptability, which represent the basis for further development, are technical skills in the area of version control, agile development and task management. In the Python eco-system, it is essential to have knowledge of core functions, data structures, basic work libraries, database knowledge, ORM libraries, additionally APIs, microservices and OS visualization as well as writing clear and readable code.
