We talked to Maja Nacevska

A few sentences about yourself.

My name is Maja Nacevska, and I am a graduate Art Historian. Due to the conditions we live in, I was forced to find other interests and professions related to what I learned and my affinities. Since I’ve known myself, creativity is something that fulfills me and makes me happy. So, two years ago, my new life story began precisely with Semos Education.

How do you connect your previous occupation with interior design?

Art is a part of my life in many different forms. From schooling, working on projects related to cultural heritage, through painting, crafting all kinds of accessories, working as a makeup artist, creating my brand for making dream catchers, and, of course, enjoying rearranging and redecorating first my room and now my apartment. Everything that I am naturally directed me towards interior design, and I have no regrets about choosing this path.

What motivated you to start your story with us?

With the beginning of the pandemic, tourism froze. I work professionally as a tourist guide for incoming tourism, and it was a tough period. There were no tourists, and the cross-border project with Kosovo for Cultural Heritage was coming to an end. Suddenly, I found myself with a lot of free time and many questions, among which “what’s next?” I’ve always wanted to start a new story, and this time gave me the space to explore what exactly I want. That’s how my journey with the Semos Education Interior Design Academy

What was the most interesting and favorite part of your studies?

Definitely the 3DsMax course taught by Julija Gruevska. It’s a complex and challenging program that requires dedication, but Julija made it easy, fun, and relaxed, combined with a lot of repetition and explanations about things we didn’t know, tricks, and directions. That’s when I knew I would work on my final project in 3DsMax.

Where did the path take you after completing the program?

It opened up new horizons for me, provided concrete directions and ideas for further growth. I ventured into the waters of the digital world and freelancing, which is gaining more momentum. Today, I work as a freelancer on projects related to interior and graphic design.

What would you recommend to everyone who wants to enroll in the Interior Design Academy at Semos Education?

My recommendation is that anyone who wants to gain significant knowledge and embark on such a path should not hesitate. I completed the Academy when we were still at home due to COVID, and I know that after much consideration about which path to take, I chose the right one for myself. With the knowledge I gained at the Semos Education Interior Design Academy, I feel ready for the next chapter in my life and any challenges that come with such a profession.

And of course, I would like to advise you to ask a million questions (laughs Maja). I think I might have been annoying at times, but it gave me self-confidence and the opportunity to fully understand things. Professors are open to discussion and will never leave you with unanswered questions or unclear material.

What are your future expectations and wishes that you would like to share with us?

I have a million expectations and wishes, but I always let time and the flow of things tell their story. I would say that currently, my biggest challenge and desire are to grow in my career and, of course, to have a reason and the opportunity for a genuine smile and joy every day. 😊
