Interview with Elena Dimovska

18 April, 2024

Interview with Elena Dimovska

Who is Elena Dimovska professionally? How did you come to work as a lecturer at Semos Education?

Elena Dimovska is a Data Analyst and Microsoft Certified Trainer at Semos Education. After completing studies at the Official Microsoft Data Science Institute, the opportunity came from Semos Education, and I gladly accepted to be part of a team that continuously learns and grows.

Favorite part of the experience as a lecturer?

Transferring knowledge inspires and motivates me to stay up-to-date with the latest trends in data science. Every experience with people who have a desire to educate themselves fascinates me, and I want to contribute to the development of professionals.

Which technical skills are you most proud of and find most useful in your work?

Data analysis is my professional identity, as I studied at the Faculty of Economics, Department of Financial Management, and furthered my education with a master’s degree focusing on banking risk management. My long-standing professional experience is related to financial data analysis, but now I’m particularly proud of my technical skills acquired with Microsoft Power Platform. These skills help me build solutions for creating low-code applications, process automation, and data analysis. I believe that economists with advanced analytical thinking should complement their skills with technical tools like Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Pages.

What skills should a successful Data Analysis lecturer possess?

A lecturer teaching data analysis should have an analytical mind, a desire to share knowledge, and a deep understanding of the DAX programming language, data modeling, and visualization.

Share an interesting anecdote from your teaching experience.

When you work with people, it’s always dynamic. I can highlight situations where cohesion is created within the group, everyone gets to know each other, bonds, shares experiences, and learns new skills. That positive atmosphere always motivates me to give my best during lectures.

We’re sure that a quality lecturer like you receives positive feedback from students regularly. Share a piece of student feedback that means the most to you.

What means the most to me is feedback in the form of a successful solution created in the form of a creative Power BI report or a low-code application at the end of a course. This speaks volumes about the dedication of the students during the lectures, indicating that I’ve managed to keep their attention and impart new knowledge and skills.

What do you like most about working as a lecturer at Semos Education?

Sharing knowledge, meeting new people, and keeping up with current developments in technology and science.

What would you recommend to future colleagues who become lecturers at Semos Education?

My message would be: Share your knowledge to expand the community of prepared professionals in the country and beyond.

Work-life balance is one of the most important concepts in any company. How is it applied in your work as a lecturer?

Every training is scheduled in correlation with the trainers. The concept of work-life balance is respected as a foundation for continuous satisfaction for both trainers and the company, as well as the attendees.

Our motto is “We share knowledge.” What does it mean to you to have the opportunity to share your knowledge and potentially change many lives?

Sharing knowledge is a noble task, and positive comments from the students are an additional motivation that we’re on the right path. Changing someone’s life in a positive direction is an honor and a privilege.
