LPIC-1: System Administrator

LPIC-1 is the first certification in LPI’s multi-level Linux professional certification program. The LPIC-1 will validate the candidate's ability to perform maintenance tasks on the command line, install and configure a computer running Linux and configure basic networking.

The LPIC-1 is designed to reflect current research and validate a candidate's proficiency in real world system administration. The objectives are tied to real-world job skills, which we determine through job task analysis surveying during exam development.

Linux System Administration (LPIC Exam 101) 

During this training you will learn:

  • How to use Linux command-line Tools
  • How to manage software
  • How to configure hardware devices
  • How to manage files
  • How to boot Linux
  • How to edit files by using text and GUI editor

This course prepares the students for LPIC Exam 101

Prerequisites

To attend this training you shoud have experience with computers and other operating systems (such as Microsoft Windows), and have worked in the command line of an operating system before.

Certificate: LPIC-1 System Administrator

If you pass exams 101 and 102 successfully, you are awarded the internationally recognized LPIC-1: System Administrator certification.

Practice exercises

Participants will conduct exercises on common CentOS distribution, which is fully compatible with RedHat, Scientific Linux, Fedora and many other Linux distributions. Current running CentOS version is version 6.5. Also, students will use Debian distribution for Debian-related tasks (version 7.4.0).
